UFC 236: Holloway v Poirier II

Tonight is the night!
UFC 236 promises to be one of the best fight cards of the year, with Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier headlining the main event for the interim Lightweight belt. A victory for Max Holloway will make him the 2 weight championship holder, while a win for Dustin Poirier will write his name in history as the UFC Lightweight champion. Max Holloway is coming off the back of a convincing TKO win over Brian Ortega. His striking proved to be precise and calculated to pick apart a momentum driven Ortega within 5 rounds. In the other corner, Dustin Poirier himself returns after a TKO win over Eddie Alvarez, former Lightweight champion and One Championship fighter.
The pair have both grown as fighters and continue to demonstrate their evolution with every contest. Since Dustin's move to American Top Team, he has been seen to have grown by utilising footwork to create attack opportunities. He has given three fighters their first stoppage losses after his return to 155lbs. Max Holloway is open to a brawl and looks to be the perfect opponent for the neutral fan. He is ready to stand in the middle of the Octagon and not move until his foe is weakened, then he pounces.
Following this, in the co-main event, Kelvin Gastelum faces Israel Adesanya for the interim Middleweight belt. This fight card is stacked from start to finish.
